AI for the Rest of Us

A community of researchers, policymakers, and civil society members who examine what meaningful AI engagement can look like.

Our work focuses on developing a new model of AI governance that includes robust civic engagement; conflicting discourses in AI ethics of what constitutes ethical approaches to geoAI and responsible AI; meaningful and responsible AI at the local and national levels across anglophone and francophone Canada; the scale of AI governance and how it is impacted by politicization and privatization as well as addressing knowledge gaps; and discussing the ways that municipal AI adoption and use occurs across Canadian cities and towns.
